Porcelain veneers
A veneer is a thin, custom-made porcelain shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its color, shape or size. Veneers are a natural-looking way to correct teeth that are chipped, discolored or uneven.
When veneers help
Veneers are a good fit for teeth that are:
- chipped or worn
- discolored in a way whitening cannot fix
- uneven in shape or size
- spaced with small gaps
What to expect
First, Dr. Da Cunha takes precise impressions of your teeth so each veneer can be made to fit. When the veneers are ready, they are bonded to your teeth with a strong adhesive. Once in place, a veneer is hard to tell apart from a natural tooth in both appearance and function.

Yes. Each veneer is shaped and shaded for your smile, and once bonded it looks and works like a natural tooth.
How many visits does it take?
Usually two: one to prepare the teeth and take impressions, and one to bond the finished veneers.
