Dental bonding
Bonding uses a tooth-colored resin, sculpted by hand and hardened with light, to repair chipped or broken teeth, close small gaps and improve the shape and color of your smile.
Two uses for bonding
Cosmetic and repair. Bonding restores chipped, broken or decayed teeth, reshapes or brightens your smile, and fills in small gaps between teeth.
Attaching restorations. The same bonding methods secure bridges, orthodontic appliances and fillings to your teeth.
How cosmetic bonding is done
Dr. Da Cunha places a composite resin on the tooth, then sculpts, shades and shapes it by hand. A high-intensity light hardens the material, and the surface is polished so it blends with the rest of your teeth.

How long does bonding take?
Most bonding is finished in a single visit.
Is bonding the same as veneers?
No. Bonding is sculpted directly on the tooth in one visit. Veneers are thin porcelain shells made to fit and bonded in a second visit. Dr. Da Cunha can explain which suits your goals.
